Take the hair assessmentThe GROWUS Damage Therapy Shampoo EX is a restorative cleansing formula designed to gently remove impurities while repairing and strengthening damaged hair. Enriched with hydrolyzed proteins and nourishing botanical extracts, this shampoo helps reinforce weakened strands, reduce breakage, and improve overall hair texture without stripping essential moisture. Its rich, creamy lather cleanses the scalp thoroughly while maintaining a healthy moisture balance.
Written from the ingredient list. Where it describes how a formula behaves, that is inferred from what the ingredients are and where they sit in the list, not measured.
Damage Therapy Shampoo EX is a shampoo from GROWUS, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on oil control, protein & strength and moisture. The ingredients doing most of that work are Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate. The list runs to 42 ingredients, 18 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.
It cleanses with Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, a sulfate detergent — effective on oil and product, and the thing people move away from when colour fades fast or the lengths feel stripped. It is buffered with Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which softens that considerably.
The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down.
It carries a moderate amount of protein — Hydrolyzed Collagen, Collagen Extract, Collagen Amino Acids and Sodium SOY Hydrolyzed Collagen — enough to firm up damaged lengths without dominating the formula.
For the scalp itself the formula carries Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide and Salicylic Acid. A sensitive or easily irritated scalp may want something milder — the detergent here is the strong kind.
It is the first step of a wash: it goes on wet hair before anything else. Apply an appropriate amount to wet hair and massage gently into the scalp to create a lather. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with conditioner or treatment for best results.
No ingredient here is one we recognise as supporting hair growth. Reducing breakage and growing hair are different things, and this formula's evidence is for the first.
