Take the hair assessmentIs your hair ready to enter its fullest, most luscious era yet? If yes, reach for Act+Acre's Cold Processed Stem Cell Shampoo (295ml). Powered by the brand's H2-Grow Complex, it harnesses the powers of Swiss apple stem cells which (while gently cleansing and removing impurities and debris) protect the hair follicle against damage, resulting in thicker-looking tresses. Combined with energy-boosting caffeine and hydrating hyaluronic acid, this formula creates the optimum environment for healthy hair growth (AKA supports hair follicle health). What's more, it stars a whimsical aroma of cardamom, iris, violet and sandalwood to leave your swishes exquisitely scented. Cue a movie-like hair flick in 3, 2, 1...
Written from the ingredient list. Where it describes how a formula behaves, that is inferred from what the ingredients are and where they sit in the list, not measured.
Stem Cell Shampoo for Hair Thinning and Growth is a shampoo from Act+Acre, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on moisture, oil control and frizz control. The ingredients doing most of that work are Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin and Betaine. The list runs to 36 ingredients, 17 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.
It is sulfate-free: the cleansing is done by Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Coco-glucoside, milder surfactants that leave more of the hair's own oil behind.
The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down. There are no silicones in the list. The formula leans to moisture rather than protein.
There is a small amount of protein in the list: Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and Hydrolyzed Rice Protein.
For the scalp itself the formula carries Panthenol, Caffeine and Niacinamide. On an oily scalp the richer ingredients here can read as greasy at the roots.
Nothing in the list is the kind of ingredient that accumulates on hair.
It is the first step of a wash: it goes on wet hair before anything else. After cleansing, apply from scalp to ends. Leave in for 2-3 minutes for added treatment.
Nothing in this formula is aimed at volume / lightweight, curl definition, color protection and damage repair — not a fault, just the shape of what is in the bottle, and the reason one product rarely covers a whole routine. No ingredient here is one we recognise as supporting hair growth. Reducing breakage and growing hair are different things, and this formula's evidence is for the first.
