Ki Gold Premium Shampoo is a shampoo from Daeng Gi Meo Ri, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on oil control, build-up avoidance and moisture. The ingredients doing most of that work are Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine. The list runs to 50 ingredients, 12 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.
It cleanses with Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a sulfate detergent — effective on oil and product, and the thing people move away from when colour fades fast or the lengths feel stripped. It is buffered with Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which softens that considerably.
The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down. It contains Dimethicone. Silicones smooth the cuticle and cut frizz on contact; they are also what a clarifying wash is for, because they do not rinse out with a mild shampoo. The formula leans to moisture rather than protein.
For the scalp itself the formula carries Panthenol and Menthol. A sensitive or easily irritated scalp may want something milder — the detergent here is the strong kind.
It is the first step of a wash: it goes on wet hair before anything else. Start by wetting the hair sufficiently. Take a moderate amount and lather. Use the fingertips to lightly massage into the scalp and the palms to gently massage the hair. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Nothing in this formula is aimed at protein & strength, volume / lightweight, curl definition and color protection — not a fault, just the shape of what is in the bottle, and the reason one product rarely covers a whole routine.
