Take the hair assessmentDealing with an oily and irritated scalp? ROUND LAB’s Pine Calming Cica Shampoo is formulated with Pine Cica Activer™ (containing fiive cica-based ingredients and pine leaf extract) to soothe the scalp and improve hair follicle health. The pH-balanced formula contains ACZERO and climbazole to keep sebum production in check and treat dandruff. Chemical exfoliants like LHA and PHA in the mix gently remove dead skin cells from hair and scalp for a fresh and revitalized finish.
Written from the ingredient list. Where it describes how a formula behaves, that is inferred from what the ingredients are and where they sit in the list, not measured.
Pine Calming Cica Shampoo is a shampoo from Round Lab, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on oil control, moisture and scalp soothing. The ingredients doing most of that work are Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Lauroyl Methylaminopropionate and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate. The list runs to 44 ingredients, 18 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.
It cleanses with Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, a sulfate detergent — effective on oil and product, and the thing people move away from when colour fades fast or the lengths feel stripped. It is buffered with Sodium Lauroyl Methylaminopropionate and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, which softens that considerably.
The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down. There are no silicones in the list. The formula leans to moisture rather than protein.
For the scalp itself the formula carries Menthol, Salicylic Acid and Panthenol. A sensitive or easily irritated scalp may want something milder — the detergent here is the strong kind.
Nothing in the list is the kind of ingredient that accumulates on hair.
It is the first step of a wash: it goes on wet hair before anything else. 1. Wet your hair and scalp with lukewarm water. 2. Pump a moderate amount of shampoo into your hands and apply it evenly to the scalp. 3. Gently massage your scalp and hair for two to three minutes, then rinse the lather off thoroughly.
Nothing in this formula is aimed at protein & strength, volume / lightweight, curl definition and color protection — not a fault, just the shape of what is in the bottle, and the reason one product rarely covers a whole routine. No ingredient here is one we recognise as supporting hair growth. Reducing breakage and growing hair are different things, and this formula's evidence is for the first.

One ingredient usually does several jobs, so these counts add up to more than the list length.
