Take the hair assessmentThe Benton Beer Yeast Shampoo is a hypoallergenic, pH-balancing scalp and hair care cleanser infused with 100,000 ppm of beer yeast extract derived from Mungyeong. It’s enriched with biotin, caffeine, black soybean extract, lactobacillus-fermented botanical extracts (namely Houttuynia cordata, Perilla frutescens, and Camellia sinensis), propolis, and niacinamide to nourish hair, support scalp health, revitalize fine or thinning strands, and soothe irritation.
Written from the ingredient list. Where it describes how a formula behaves, that is inferred from what the ingredients are and where they sit in the list, not measured.
Beer Yeast Shampoo is a shampoo from Benton, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on oil control, scalp soothing and moisture. The ingredients doing most of that work are Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine and Lauryl Glucoside. The list runs to 38 ingredients, 15 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.
It is sulfate-free: the cleansing is done by Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine and Lauryl Glucoside, milder surfactants that leave more of the hair's own oil behind.
The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down. There are no silicones in the list. The formula leans to moisture rather than protein.
There is a small amount of protein in the list: Arginine.
For the scalp itself the formula carries Caffeine, Menthol and Panthenol.
It suits low porosity in particular.
It is the first step of a wash: it goes on wet hair before anything else. Wet your hair and scalp with lukewarm water. Apply a moderate amount of shampoo, gently massage it into the scalp and through the lengths for a rich lather, then rinse thoroughly until no residue remains. Use regularly for best results.
Nothing in this formula is aimed at protein & strength, volume / lightweight, curl definition and color protection — not a fault, just the shape of what is in the bottle, and the reason one product rarely covers a whole routine. No ingredient here is one we recognise as supporting hair growth. Reducing breakage and growing hair are different things, and this formula's evidence is for the first.

One ingredient usually does several jobs, so these counts add up to more than the list length.
