What this product is

Written from the ingredient list. Where it describes how a formula behaves, that is inferred from what the ingredients are and where they sit in the list, not measured.

Overview

Atobarrier 365 Body Cream is a cream from Aestura, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on moisture, frizz control and shine. The ingredients doing most of that work are Butylene Glycol, Glycerin and Dicaprylyl Ether. The list runs to 45 ingredients, 18 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.

How it cleanses

It is sulfate-free: the cleansing is done by C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside and Arachidyl Glucoside, milder surfactants that leave more of the hair's own oil behind.

How it feels on hair

The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down. It contains Methyl Trimethicone. Silicones smooth the cuticle and cut frizz on contact; they are also what a clarifying wash is for, because they do not rinse out with a mild shampoo. The formula leans to moisture rather than protein.

On the scalp

For the scalp itself the formula carries Panthenol.

Where it goes

It is a leave-in: applied after washing and not rinsed out. Moisten hair and scalp with lukewarm water. Apply an appropriate amount to your hands, foam, and massage your hair and scalp. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

What it is not for

Nothing in this formula is aimed at protein & strength, scalp soothing, oil control and volume / lightweight — not a fault, just the shape of what is in the bottle, and the reason one product rarely covers a whole routine. No ingredient here is one we recognise as supporting hair growth. Reducing breakage and growing hair are different things, and this formula's evidence is for the first.
