Take the hair assessment and I'll rate this product for your hair type.
Take the hair assessmentFormulated with traditional Vietnamese pomelo essential oil, Vitamin B5, and Xylishine™, Pomelo Hair Mask helps reduce breakage, boost hydration, provide softness, and strengthen hair strands. Pomelo essential oil, extracted from the peel, is rich in limonene. It effectively inhibits the 5-alpha reductase type 2 enzyme in the scalp, which is the primary cause of hair loss. Additionally, due to its antibacterial and high antioxidant properties, pomelo essential oil will provide you with a healthy scalp and hair.
Written from the ingredient list. Where it describes how a formula behaves, that is inferred from what the ingredients are and where they sit in the list, not measured.
Pomelo Hair Mask is a mask from Cocoon, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on moisture, frizz control and shine. The ingredients doing most of that work are Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol and Synthetic Beeswax. The list runs to 65 ingredients, 29 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.
It is sulfate-free: the cleansing is done by Xylitylglucoside and Cocamidopropyl Betaine, milder surfactants that leave more of the hair's own oil behind.
The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down. It contains Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone and Dimethiconol. Silicones smooth the cuticle and cut frizz on contact; they are also what a clarifying wash is for, because they do not rinse out with a mild shampoo. The formula leans to moisture rather than protein.
There is a small amount of protein in the list: Arginine.
For the scalp itself the formula carries Panthenol. On an oily scalp the richer ingredients here can read as greasy at the roots.
Several ingredients here stay on the hair between washes — Synthetic Beeswax, Cyclopentasiloxane and Butyrospermum Parkii Butter — so on low-porosity or fine hair this is a formula that will want a clarifying wash from time to time.
It is a treatment step: after shampooing, left on, then rinsed out.
Nothing in this formula is aimed at protein & strength, scalp soothing, oil control and volume / lightweight — not a fault, just the shape of what is in the bottle, and the reason one product rarely covers a whole routine. No ingredient here is one we recognise as supporting hair growth. Reducing breakage and growing hair are different things, and this formula's evidence is for the first.

One ingredient usually does several jobs, so these counts add up to more than the list length.
