Take the hair assessmentDaeng Gi Meo Ri Yulah Gold Shampoo is a strengthening herbal cleanser designed to nourish and protect hair from root to tip. It features a rich blend of traditional botanical extracts such as ginseng, chrysanthemum, horsetail, honeysuckle, ginger, and silkworm cocoon. Niacinamide, ceramide NP, and plant-based oils like Inca inchi seed oil and aloe help moisturize, boost softness, and reinforce the hair’s natural protective barrier. Together, these ingredients cleanse gently while promoting shine, resilience, and scalp health.
Written from the ingredient list. Where it describes how a formula behaves, that is inferred from what the ingredients are and where they sit in the list, not measured.
Yulah Gold Shampoo is a shampoo from Daeng Gi Meo Ri, aimed at fine hair, straight hair and wavy hair. On the evidence of its ingredient list, the formula works on oil control, moisture and frizz control. The ingredients doing most of that work are Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine. The list runs to 55 ingredients, 19 of which carry a role we recognise for hair.
It cleanses with Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, a sulfate detergent — effective on oil and product, and the thing people move away from when colour fades fast or the lengths feel stripped. It is buffered with Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Acetobacter/bacillus/lactobacillus/saccharomyces/streptococcus/fruit/leaf/imperata Cylindrica Root/seed/broccoli/eriocephalus Punctulatus/mistletoe/acrylates C10-30 Alkyl Acrylates Crosspolymer/alpha-glucan/betaine/butylene Glycol/epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside/glycereth-26/glycerin/glucosyl Ceramide/glucosyl Hesperidin/hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid/maltodextrin/panthenol/sclerotium Gum/tromethamine/xanthan Gum Ferment Filtrate, which softens that considerably.
The formula reads as lightweight: humectants lead and there is little in the way of heavy oil or silicone, so it should not weigh fine hair down. It contains Dimethicone. Silicones smooth the cuticle and cut frizz on contact; they are also what a clarifying wash is for, because they do not rinse out with a mild shampoo. The formula leans to moisture rather than protein.
For the scalp itself the formula carries Niacinamide, Acetobacter/bacillus/lactobacillus/saccharomyces/streptococcus/fruit/leaf/imperata Cylindrica Root/seed/broccoli/eriocephalus Punctulatus/mistletoe/acrylates C10-30 Alkyl Acrylates Crosspolymer/alpha-glucan/betaine/butylene Glycol/epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside/glycereth-26/glycerin/glucosyl Ceramide/glucosyl Hesperidin/hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid/maltodextrin/panthenol/sclerotium Gum/tromethamine/xanthan Gum Ferment Filtrate and Panthenol. A sensitive or easily irritated scalp may want something milder — the detergent here is the strong kind.
A few ingredients here stay on the hair between washes (Dimethicone, Polyquaternium-73 and Acetobacter/bacillus/lactobacillus/saccharomyces/streptococcus/fruit/leaf/imperata Cylindrica Root/seed/broccoli/eriocephalus Punctulatus/mistletoe/acrylates C10-30 Alkyl Acrylates Crosspolymer/alpha-glucan/betaine/butylene Glycol/epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside/glycereth-26/glycerin/glucosyl Ceramide/glucosyl Hesperidin/hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid/maltodextrin/panthenol/sclerotium Gum/tromethamine/xanthan Gum Ferment Filtrate), which is worth knowing if you wash rarely or use a mild shampoo.
It is the first step of a wash: it goes on wet hair before anything else. Wet hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply a generous amount and massage gently to create a rich lather. Leave on for two to three minutes for deeper nourishment, then rinse well.
Nothing in this formula is aimed at protein & strength, volume / lightweight, damage repair and shine — not a fault, just the shape of what is in the bottle, and the reason one product rarely covers a whole routine. No ingredient here is one we recognise as supporting hair growth. Reducing breakage and growing hair are different things, and this formula's evidence is for the first.
